IT Talent: Essential Skill Sets for Data Analysis and Management
This IDC study, designed for senior IT executives and others who are involved or interested in data management-related initiatives, offers a data-centric and talent management view of 3rd Platform technologies and other IT megatrends. It outlines the various data-oriented job types that perform these activities. Then, because of the essential role of data management and its implications for talent management planning and activities, this study takes a wider view of data management from a political, organizational, and technical perspective. In conclusion, this study provides short- and long-term recommendations designed to help talent executives maximize the effectiveness of talent management activities related to finding, hiring, training, retraining and retaining skill sets for data management.
