This IDC study examines the Philippine telecoms market in 2010, and presents IDC's forecast for this market for the next five years. Revenues from this sector amounted to US$4,182 million in 2010, amounting to 7% year-over-year (YoY) growth.
"The next five years will be defined by heightened mobility and movement away from basic services, as standalone offerings toward managed solutions and bundled packages. The vendor community will have to review their channel structure and strategies on how to target end users, both consumers and enterprises. As the line between business and consumer products blur as far as actual customer usage is concerned, vendors and service providers (SPs) may have to rethink on how to better target and address this requirement by revising their product portfolios and customer segmentations," says Karen Rondon, research manager, Mobile and Wireless Telecommunications, IDC Philippines.
