The Dutch software market slowed in 2008 compared with 2007, recording growth of 5.3%.

"The financial crisis and the slowing down of economic growth have taken their toll on growth in the software markets. This will also be the case in 2009, but it will not be as dramatic as we feared six months ago," said Per Andersen, managing director at IDC Nordics and Benelux. "We still forecast positive growth in the Dutch software market in 2009 and the recovery in the market will materialize in 2010."

IDC expects the Dutch software market to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4.3% between 2009 and 2013.
