This IDC study uses the results of the IDC Asia/Pacific Communication Study, 2011 to identify trends in the corporate data and Internet access service uptake, as well as in network expenditure, value-added managed services (VAMS), VoIP usage, corporate mobility, and unified communications (UC) by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia. It also examines the decision-making structure, budgets, and service provider (SP) preferences, including the satisfaction levels of enterprises in this segment.
"SMEs remain cost conscious. Nonetheless, the need to drive business growth in today's dynamic business environment requires them to leverage the use of communications technology. It is essential for SPs to develop a unique competitive edge for new and innovative products and services, in line with trends that lean toward high-speed communications, ubiquitous services, and network security," says Hweexian Tan, market analyst, Telecommunications, IDC Malaysia
