Japan Storage Software 2015-2019 Forecast and 2014 Analysis
This IDC study, presents Japan storage software market revenue results from 2014 and revenue forecasts from 2015 to 2019. IDC classifies the storage software market into the following six product areas for the purposes of investigation and analysis: 1. data protection and recovery software; 2. storage replication software; 3. archive software; 4. storage and device management software; 5. storage infrastructure software; and 6. software-defined storage platform software. The study also analyzes market size and trends by OS-based operations environments, such as mainframes, Unix systems, Windows systems, and Linux systems.
"Among companies that utilize social technology, mobility, the Internet of things (IoT), and other 3rd Platform technologies, cases of rapidly increasing volumes of retained data are becoming more common, and there are greater expectations that storage will deliver operational efficiencies. In addition, there are a greater number of solutions that, in part, attempt to offer software-defined infrastructure as a means of achieving those efficiencies, as well as a greater number of products that support the effective use of the cloud. Thus, users have a broader range of options. Until now, many users have postponed the automation of storage infrastructure operations in favor of other areas. However, going forward, more and more companies should engage in advanced utilization of storage software to meet demands and make their business more agile," argues IDC Japan storage systems research manager Yasusuke Suzuki.
