Since the new cabinet came to power, concerns about degraded social infrastructure and interest in disaster recovery/relief measures have increased. The value chain for medical/health/nursing/welfare services providers and pharmaceutical drugs/medical equipment is an important part of the social infrastructure that concerns human lives. "Healthcare solutions vendors should take stock of the component technologies in their solutions from the perspective of the safety and sustainability of local communities, and create modules that can be provided speedily within resource and time constraints," says Eiji Sasahara, research manager, IT Spending, IDC Japan.
