Japan Small and Medium Business Markets IT Spending Trend Survey 2013

This IDC study, analyzes and examines the objectives and challenges in implementing IT, the IT spending budget, priority areas in IT spending, impact of raised consumption tax on IT spending, and vendor engagement trends based on the results from the Japan SMB User Survey conducted in January 2013.

IT spending is expected to grow even in SMBs, due to the recovery in Japan economy brought by proactive economic policies established in December 2012 by Liberal Democratic Party and Kominto coalition administration. New IT utilizations are also emerging, such as the gradual growth of SMBs aiming to improve business performance, including revenue growth by using IT. "IT vendors must actively respond to new IT utilization needs in SMBs, in order to gain further market growth," says Hitoshi Ichimura, IDC Japan IT spending senior analyst.
