This IDC study's key objective is to understand and provide insight into current software adoption trends and spending plans for enterprises in the key country markets such as Australia, India, Korea, People's Republic of China (PRC), and Singapore, as well as the public sector and industry sectors such as financial markets; manufacturing, construction, and resources; distribution services; and infrastructure services. "The study shows that the majority of respondents are in the maintenance mode as far as investments in infrastructure software are concerned. It also indicates that system and network management software (SNMS) is a key area of focus for increasing investments. Respondents also indicate that when choosing a vendor, cost was secondary, but software reliability was not to be compromised," says Daphne Chung, senior research manager, System Infrastructure and Middleware Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific. |
