Indonesia Fixed and Mobile Broadband 2012–2016 Market Analysis and Forecast

This IDC study analyzes Indonesia's fixed and mobile broadband markets in 1H12, and presents IDC's forecast for these markets in the next four years. IDC forecast that in 2012, Indonesia's mobile broadband services market was valued at US$650.92 million and fixed broadband services market was valued at US$771.36 million.

"Indonesia broadband market continues to grow. The growing potential markets, which are outside Jakarta and Java Island, will urge operators to expand their network coverage and strengthen network quality by investing in ICT infrastructure using 3G, EV-DO, LTE, and WiMAX technologies. Affordable smartphones and the innovation in the application community (for example, Android or Blackberry application community, and many others) open up new markets in Indonesia as a developing country. This will help operators to maintain existing as well as attract new subscribers and prevent higher churn rate among the service players," says Meriska Elfiarini, senior market analyst for Telecommunication, IDC Indonesia.
