IDC's European Enterprise Services Survey, 2011: BPO Adoption in EuropeIDCJuly 19, 2011 19 Pages - SKU: IDC6567372 |
Although many Western European organizations remain wary of outsourcing business processes, almost half of those that are already outsourcing are planning to increase their BPO spend. Although Western Europe is slowly recovering from economic downturn, demand for BPO remains, with relatively low levels of penetration especially in Continental European countries — only a fifth of organizations are outsourcing business processes, and only 13% are considering doing so in the next 12 months. "In this postcrisis period, Western European organizations are focusing their efforts and resources in the modernization and rationalization of existing IT assets; therefore, traditional IT outsourcing is attracting more attention than BPO," said Juan Sacchi, senior research analyst, IDC European Services. Sacchi continues: "However, there is an increasing demand for innovative BPO services, able not only to reduce the customer's costs but also to increase the customer's revenues. Those BPO vendors able to develop offerings that demonstrate real value for the customer will be the first to capture the latent opportunity as they come to market." |
