The product segments are classified under two UC functional segments - Enterprise Collaboration and Customer Interaction. In 2007, the total UC revenue in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) or APEJ was US$603.3 million. This study provides vendor revenue for each UC product segment for year-end 2006 and 2007. In addition, it also provides a breakdown of the 2007 vendor revenues for each UC product segment by countries. "At this early stage of UC adoption in the Asia/Pacific region, the market needs extraordinary acts of collaboration from UC suppliers to respond rapidly to enterprises' needs," says Shalini Verma, research manager, Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific. "Vendors need to take continuous feedback from channels regarding the customers' integration needs and build-easy methodologies to deliver such integration capabilities. This should be a constant iterative exercise to improve the implementation of UC solutions." |
