European Wireless and Mobile Communications: Country and Operator Profiles - Greece (2005)

Paolo Pescatore, research manager for IDC's European Wireless and Mobile Communications service, says, "The Greek mobile market is proving to be quite innovative as the operators roll out new data services. The market leader continues to be COSMOTE, followed by Vodafone and TIM Hellas (previously STET Hellas). The new entrant, Q-Telecom, is moving steadily along, but the same private equity firm has acquired both it and TIM. It remains to be seen what the new management, with the merging of the two companies a possibility. All of the top three operators have launched 3G services."
