This IDC study examines survey data from 225 enterprises reporting the frequency and amount of IT education services in demand to support IT virtualization engagements. Server virtualization has become one of the most discussed technologies over the past several years. The ability of virtualization to reduce server costs, improve IT utilization, and improve IT responsiveness and flexibility is particularly attractive in an era of declining budgets. This research examines how enterprises that deploy virtualization for the common business cases may need education services for their system administrators and end users. "As virtualization deployments become more common, especially in varying business cases, the need for IT education will grow in volume but not in frequency," says Cushing Anderson, vice president, IT Education and Certification Research. |
