The Digital Life Design (DLD) forum took place in Munich between January 20 and 22, 2008. DLD brings together thought leaders from Europe, the Middle East, America, and Asia. This year about 800 guests gathered to discuss digital innovation, science, and culture. Although only three years old, DLD has established itself as a key meeting point to discuss how digitization impacts everyday life, the economy, and culture. In a way, DLD is the digital version of Davos. In fact, several of the speakers actually went straight from DLD to the World Economic Forum. Refreshingly, there were no PowerPoint presentations. The conference concept very much focuses on a panel-like exchange of information and opinions. DLD is also unique in bringing together people from all walks of life. |
