This IDC Insight is based on the results of a questionnaire we sent to all leading and midsize consulting firms asking about their opinion on the current business conditions. Most of them kindly answered. We added to this feedback information gathered from ongoing contacts with firms and from the documents they officially publish.

The following sections reflect the overall opinion of the consulting industry on today's market situation and our analysis and comments. We will conduct this kind of survey on a regular basis.
