China Machine-to-Machine Communication Applications and Opportunities 2010–2014 Forecast and Analysis

This IDC study provides insights into the machine-to-machine (M2M) services market in China. M2M communication is believed to be a prosperous business. For many product manufacturers and SPs, M2M truly represents the future even though the China market is still in the initial stages. The market is characterized by some M2M pilots and uncertain business models.

"In China, the strong government push in line with the 'Sensing China' and 'Smart City' initiatives will lead to the expansion of overall M2M technology and application awareness in 2009," says by Milly Xiang, research manager, Services and Telecommunications Research, IDC China.

"Overall, due to the fact that the M2M services market is well in line with some of the macroeconomic trends affecting the global market, IDC believes that in the long term, M2M service use will present opportunities in the entire ecosystem," she adds.
