Canadian Networking Equipment 2013–2017 Forecast

This IDC study is the follow-up to our previously published forecast document (May 2012). The networking equipment market in Canada is experiencing slowing growth in traditional network equipment segments such as Ethernet switches and routers, but growth remains buoyed by wireless LAN and security appliances. The total market achieved revenue of just over C$2 billion in 2012 and is forecast to post a 4.7% CAGR to reach C$2.5 billion by 2017.

Dave Pearson, research manager, Infrastructure Solutions, says, "Enterprise networking equipment has both the highest growth and the largest overall market size in the enterprise infrastructure space. The relevance of networking equipment to cloud, mobility, security, virtualization, and video has never been greater, and demands on the network will push revenue to C$2.5 billion by 2017."
