Canadian Disk Storage Systems 2011 Vendor Shares

This IDC study presents IDC Canada's review of the 2011 performance of the major disk storage system (DSS) vendors. Key announcements, product mix, and relative market share for each of the major vendors are all reviewed. The data in this study is based on IDC's Canadian Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker. Previous performance was discussed in Canadian Disk Storage Systems 2010 Vendor Shares (April 2011).

"2011 exceeded our expectations for storage revenue slightly but reinforced our belief that we're still looking at a long slow road to recovery in infrastructure markets. We have a few megatrends pushing DSS capacity demand higher, such as analytics, mobility, and social media, but continued per-terabyte price erosion, capacity efficiencies, and cloud storage offerings will continue to soften revenue," says Dave Pearson, senior analyst, Disk Storage Systems, Canadian Infrastructure Solutions.
