This IDC study examines the results of a Web-based survey administered by IDC to CLO magazine's Business Intelligence Board (BIB) regarding a variety of topics to gauge the issues, opportunities, and attitudes that make up the diverse role of a senior training executive. Content, audience, environment, and available technology each play a role in how learning is delivered. Enterprise strategies are continuing to evolve: What content is being taught, what audience is the target, and what available tool is appropriate are becoming more sophisticated. This document discusses our annual look into learning modalities and how they are evolving. In this survey, more than 360 BIB respondents shared their thoughts on the appropriate mix of learning delivery.

"Asynchronous elearning is increasingly seen as the preferred delivery method when needing to train a group with varied skill levels." — Cushing Anderson, vice president, Corporate Learning Research at IDC
