Best Practices: Creating an RFP for Source Selection
This IDC Insight discusses the well-crafted RFP, the key to finding the best vendor to ask the right questions. Before drafting the RFP, you and your business partners should first discuss and determine the requirements you are looking for. Once this has been decided, the evaluation criteria should be determined for the vendor selection. Depending on the type of engagement, price or account management may be the main factor in choosing a vendor. The benefit of choosing this evaluation criterion before crafting the RFP is that doing so allows the bulk of questions to be created around the area that is most important to you. This also prevents a change in scope once the responses are received.
