BI for Drug Development: Oracle Introduces Clinical Development Analytics

This IDC Health Insights Perspective highlights the announcement of a dedicated life science business intelligence (BI) solution introduced recently at Oracle OpenWorld 2009 that promises to deliver actionable insights into clinical development processes. Oracle Clinical Development Analytics (CDA) is a new product offering expected to be released by Oracle early next year. Built on Oracle's BI Enterprise Edition Plus platform, this new solution should provide near-real-time insights across the entire clinical development process, encompassing both current and previously completed trials. This information will be invaluable to all stakeholders involved and should help to make the overall drug development process more transparent. As highlighted in other IDC Health Insights research, we believe that the adoption of BI will be strong across the health industry ecosystem, driven by both financial and business pressures impacting the industry today.
