This IDC study outlines IDC Australia's infrastructure predictions for 2013. The hardware market has never been more challenging in such uncertain economic times than before. With the changing appetite of consumers and businesses, CIOs are taking a two-pronged approach to IT — creating efficiencies through IT and adding business value to IT.
"In the context of hardware infrastructure, this means building cost-effective solutions and operational efficiencies into their IT infrastructure. CIOs are working towards realising the business value of IT beyond day-to-day operational tasks. These are the core objectives that form the foundation of IDC's 2013 predictions," says Amy Cheah, Market Analyst, IDC. "Hardware spending may not see huge resurgence this year, but there will be window of growth opportunity within the mobility space. Consolidation and convergence will also intensify in the infrastructure space to optimise performance and improve efficiencies," Cheah adds.
