Asia/Pacific IT Services Forecast, 2014–2019: IT Services Emerge as a Driver for Business Transformation
This IDC study provides a comprehensive assessment of the IT services market in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), or APEJ, for the period 2014–2019, spanning 12 foundation markets and 13 countries in the region. In order to provide greater context and more granular insight, each of the 13 countries covered in the study has a dedicated section in the report. The overall IT services market in APEJ is expected to grow to about US$100 billion by 2019 at an annualized growth rate of close to 8% through the forecast period.
"Over the next few years, the IT services landscape in the Asia/Pacific region is going to be defined by enterprises looking to leverage emerging technology trends to achieve organizational transformation that can support their business objectives. IT service providers that can position themselves as business transformation partners and help enterprises realize quantifiable benefits from their digital transformation initiatives will get a head start in the age of the 3rd Platform," says Pushkaraksh Shanbhag, senior research manager, IT Services, IDC Asia/Pacific.
This will spur the adoption of IT services management (ITSM) principles to ensure the design and deployment of an integrated enterprise services strategy that can fully support the organization's business objectives. The managed service provider space will evolve into a two-tiered structure, with a lead managed service provider (MSP) at the top, orchestrating the delivery of a wide variety of end-user services from a limited set of niche/specialized service providers.
