3Q08 Wireless Gross Subscriber Additions: Feature Phones and Prepaid Services Fuel Subscriber Gains

This IDC Insight gives the gross subscriber numbers for the top 10 wireless carriers in the United States during the third quarter of 2008. It also provides numbers from the third quarter of 2007 as a comparison. A percentage difference is given between the two quarters. Also included is a percentage breakdown of the number of total gross subscribers during the third quarter who were postpaid and prepaid. This document also includes the total number of retail customers for the third quarter of 2008, broken down by a postpay and prepay percentage.
