IAL is pleased to announce the publication of the second edition of its report on the rigid spray polyurethane foam markets. This new edition will look at the growth seen in these markets in recent years and expectations of how the markets will develop in more restrained economic circumstances.

The USA, China, and Japan remain the largest markets for 2K spray polyurethane foam along with Canada. Spain remains the largest market in Western Europe though production here has halved since 2007. The versatility of these foams and their ability to meet the demand for more and better thermal insulation continues to create new opportunities in both mature and emerging markets.

Production and demand for one component aerosol spray foams (OCF) has also shown significant growth in recent years. These products have seen rising demand in both the professional and DIY construction markets where they can save time as well as providing adhesion, sealing and void filing properties.

Production data by foam density is provided for 2009 along with forecasts for 2014. Data is broken down as follows:
