Textile Manufacturing

Textile manufacturing is based in the conversion of three types of raw fibre into yarn, then fabric, then textiles. These are then fabricated into clothes or other artifacts. There are many variable processes available at the spinning and fabric-forming stages coupled with the complexities of the finishing and coloration processes to the production of a wide range of products. There remains a large industry that uses hand techniques to achieve the same results.

Raw materials include cotton, hemp, flax, jute, bast fibers, leaf fibers, protein fibers (wool, silk) and synthetic fibers. After these yarns have gone through spinning, weaving, knitting and finishing processes, they are then made into clothing and other textile products.
