Minneapolis, MN Market Overview

Minneapolis is one of the more innovative markets in the country. Three of the area's largest health systems were selected to participate in the federal Pioneer ACO program, signaling they have the infrastructure and willingness to take on a higher level of financial risk in providing accountable care. At the same time, health systems have worked very closely with health plans to form commercial ACOs and exclusive provider networks in an effort to heighten care management and give local employers several options to reduce cost. Gov. Mark Dayton is expected to move forward with plans for a state-run exchange, while more Minnesotans should benefit from Medicaid coverage over the next few years.
