| European Tariffs’ Hike- A Block To Texas Biodiesel Industry Summary For the past few years the EC has opposed the US unloading its goods in bulk in their region which affects several sectors including biodiesel. Around 80% of the biodiesel produced by the US was exported to the European Union (EU) during 2008. In order to protect their share and reduce the dependence on US biodiesel products the EC increased the anti-dumping tariff by 29%. This has hampered the growth of US biodiesel manufacturers in the EU. As Texas is the largest biodiesel producer in the US it will definitely be affected by this increase in anti dumping subsidies.
