Opportunity Analysis of Biofuel Feedstock Markets in Southern Africa

Research was carried out on the biofuel feedstock industries five countries, namely Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. A thorough PESTLE (political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental) analysis was established for all the countries allowing for an accurate evaluation of the external factors impacting the individual feedstock industries. Agroclimatic and agricultural resource analysis was conducted and crop and land requirements for biofuel production was determined. In addition, market dynamics, such as challenges, drivers and restraints were also identified.
