Channel Metrics: Consumer Distribution Trends in UK Mortgages is the most detailed and up-to-date guide to distribution trends in mortgages in the UK available on a published basis. It analyses: how consumers take out mortgages - e.g. online, phone, post or in person; from whom they take them out - e.g. direct from the lender, through brokers or other partners; and how often they take them out - i.e. how many consumers took a mortgage in 2015, either for the first time or by switching provider (i.e. remortgaging) instead of carrying on with an existing product. Findings from this survey, which represents trends in 2015, are compared with those from 2007 and 2011 to show trends over time. Furthermore, results are provided separately for all mortgage borrowers (i.e. the 'stock'), for new borrowers and switchers (i.e. those making a distribution choice in the year in question), and for borrowers carrying on with an existing mortgage (i.e. showing their distribution choices in the year that they originally took out their mortgage). Finally, respondents taking out this product online are segmented by type of device used (i.e. laptop / desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone).
