| Japan's NEC is a global conglomerate that manufactures computer systems, networking components, semiconductors, application software, and display systems, among other products. NEC owns and operates both NEC Corporation of America and NEC Display Solutions as holding companies. It is organized into business segments for IT Services, Platforms, Carrier Networks, Social Infrastructure, and Personal Solutions. Earlier this year the company introduced a management software model based on the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) Common Information Model (CIM) that enables the distribution and centralized configuration of access policy in a cloud computing environment.
