Organizations are increasingly looking at Global sourcing (GS) as a strategic option to not only reduce cost but also get access to specialized skill-sets and achieve scalability. Compared to other BPO functions like call centers and finance and accounting (F&A), human resources (HR) has seen limited adoption of GS; but changes are afoot. While the adoption levels are already increasing in the large market segment (the >15K employees segment), the inherent characteristic of the mid-market (3K-15K segment) should result in increased adoption of global sourcing. This white paper discusses the changing dynamics of GS in HR, provides an overview of the service providers’ GS strategy in HR outsourcing (HRO), and illustrates some key considerations for choosing an appropriate offshore location for HR.
