Engalco
Since 1994 Engalco has researched, completed and released several industry and market studies. A further group of such studies were released during 2002. In 2003 Engalco published a new study for the defense and space sectors. The firm has been responsible for many electronics-industry consultancy contracts, with companies such as Hitachi, and KMI.
Engalco has developed business plans for high-technology operations, including EMC testing facilities for one specific client. Board-level support has been provided for a UK-headquartered technology concern, focusing on acquisition strategy for US technology companies.
Other private-client consultancy contracts have included:
- Audit of fiber-optic communications components.
- Study of global markets for a specialised RF/microwave instrument.
- Study of microwave oscillator markets in Europe.
- Study of microwave waveguide markets.
- Study of RF CAD packages globally (2002).
- Study of LTCC RF technology globally (2003).
- Study of LTCC RF applications globally (2003).
Most of the above contracts were for UK-headquartered clients. The RF CAD project was for a North American company. The firm completed an eight-part project on the fibre optics industry: May 2000 to March 2001. Engalco possesses a strong and up-to-date capability in fiber-optic components and systems. During 2002 the firm prepared two industry studies on wireless Last-Mile Links; one on Free-Space Optic technology (FSO) and the second being a complementary study on Microwave-based Fixed Broadband Wireless Access Networks (FBWA). Microwave industry market reports continue as the main standard report lifeblood for the firm and, by mid-summer 2003, a new study for the defense and space sectors is planned for release. By fall '03 a market report on microwaves into the fixed wireless sector is planned.
