Activity in the wealth management industry in November was lower than in October. In November there were a total of 66 developments among the 100 wealth managers tracked, compared to 79 in October. However, November was the third busiest month of 2011 to date. Moreover, November activity was significantly above the 12-month average of 48.Product innovation and customer targeting accounted for the highest proportion of activity in November, with 25 developments out of a total of 66. Credit Suisse launched the first Swiss Real Estate Fund investing in property outside of Switzerland, and HDFC launched a range of premium credit cards targeting wealthy Indian women.The largest proportion of competitor activity in November originated from Western Europe and Asia Pacific, which accounted for 20 and 19 of the total of 66 developments respectively. In Switzerland, ABN Amro announced the completion of the sale of its Swiss private banking unit to UBP, and in China Julius Baer opened an office in Shanghai.
