Countries covered: United States

This database provides a standardized set of data with detailed breakdowns of the number of affluent individuals and the aggregate onshore liquid wealth across 10 US dollar liquid asset bands for seven Americas countries from 2006 through 2015.

Introduction

The wealth of mass affluent and high net worth (HNW) consumers in the Americas was negatively impacted by the poor conditions in the market, brought on largely by negative sentiment from outside the region. However, the market is set to grow again in 2012 as the US experiences a balanced economic revival and the emerging markets of Latin America continue to grow.

Scope
  • Identify your target customer base in an individual country or across the region with detailed segmentation covering 10 liquid asset bands in USD
  • Compare key wealth management markets by detailed breakdown of the number of individuals and onshore liquid assets in seven countries
  • Understand the distribution of financial assets across a country's affluent population
  • Evaluate the resilience and growth prospects of key Americas wealth markets in light of recent global instability and local economic drivers
  • Build your forward plans using our forecasts of wealthy individuals and the value of their onshore liquid assets to 2015, split by liquid asset band
Highlights

The savings and investment market in the Americas remains dominated by the wealthy, a trend that will see little change over the next five years.

The total Americas wealth market was worth $28.1tn in 2011. This is forecast to grow by a CAGR of 5.5% during 2011-15 to $34.8tn. This growth will be led by the Brazilian, Colombian, and Chilean wealth markets.

The number of affluents in the Americas declined by 1.6% in 2011. This was led by declines in the US and Brazil, encouraged by poor returns on equity investments. Conversely, the affluent population in the emerging wealth market of Colombia rose by 7.3% in 2011, as GDP growth rose to 5.1%.

Reasons to Purchase
  • Which countries have weathered recent crises the best and had the highest growth in affluent assets in 2011?
  • Where are the countries with the fastest growing affluent populations?
  • How large is the HNW market in my target country?
