Multimedia: market research reports

Multimedia is comprised of content and media that combines a variety of different content forms. Such content forms consist of audio, animation, interactivity, text, still images, and video. Multimedia is typically accessed, displayed, or recorded and played using processing devices with information content capabilities. These may include electronic gadgets or computers, as well as portions of live performances.
In addition, multimedia may refer to devices used for the storage of electronic multimedia content.

Multimedia is usually divided into two types: non-linear and linear. Non-linear multimedia content provides users with interactivity which affords them the ability to control the progress of the multimedia being used, such as a computer game. Multimedia games may be used online, offline, with a game system, or with a simulator in a physical environment. Linear multimedia content progresses free of user navigation, such as the experience one finds while viewing a presentation. Multimedia presentations are typically transmitted, projected, or broadcasted for viewing or listening.

Multimedia has uses it many different venues such as entertainment, medicine, math, research, art, education, engineering, advertising, journalism, business, and various other industries. In the broad sense of multimedia usage for industry in general, multimedia may present information to employees, administrators, and shareholders. It can be utilized for employee training seminars, as well as a form of marketing worldwide. As multimedia is already frequently employed in the online sector, it can be easily aligned with evolving internet-based technologies.
