This industry still has to participate in the additional processes of creation, merchandising, retailing, distribution (or delivering), advertising and the monetary transactions that occur with online commerce and retail just is in general commerce and retail. Much of the amount of e-commerce that is conducted is done so for virtual services, such as accessing content on specific websites. However, the majority of e-commerce involves the retailing of products and thus the delivering of these products, which is how online retailing is linked to e-commerce.
Online retailers offer wide selections of goods and services, but the predominant products that are purchased through this channel of retail include: over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and personal care products, health products, apparel, and computer software and hardware. Many online companies focus on products in specific areas, but expanding companies are offering a wide assortment of goods in order to continue their growth and keep up with awareness of brand names.
