Dec. 20, 2012 (China Knowledge) – Guiyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) rated “BBB” by China Knowledge in a research report published today. The high-tech industrial development zone was approved by the State Council and established in 1992 as a state-level development zone.
Guiyang HIDZ consists of Jinyang Science and Technology Industry Park and Xintian Science and Technology Industry Park. Within these are Knowledge Economy Industrialization Base, Chip Components Industrial Park, Medicine Industrial Park, Guizhou Torch Software Park, Overseas Returnees Pioneering Park and Technology Business Incubator.
Last year, Guiyang HIDZ realized a value-added industrial output of over RMB 10 billion, accounting for about a quarter of the city’s total. There are over 1,300 enterprises located in Guiyang HIDZ, including publicly listed foreign and domestic companies.
The HIDZ’s major industries are new materials, advanced manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals and information technology. Representative enterprises include Guiyang Jinghua Electron Material, South Huitong, Guizhou Shenqi Pharmaceutical, Snecma and China Zhenhua (Group) Science & Technology.
Guiyang HIDZ plans to realize value-added industrial output of RMB 15 billion by 2012. In 2012, there will be three to five large companies with revenues of more than RMB 1 billion.
Industrial parks rated BBB are considered attractive at an average level. They have less-than-adequate investment conditions and may have some flaws. They may be promising industrial parks but there are uncertainties regarding future development. Most of these are industry specific theme park that caters to fewer industries. There are 60 such BBB rating out of 254 national or municipal-level industrial parks where many are seeking to transform or upgrade its facilities to attract new economy industries.
