The 2005-2014 Outlook for the Cottage Cheese Market in Russia

Cottage cheese market in Russia was steadily increasing during the period from 2005 to 2009. Even price bulge on milk did not stop the market growth in 2007-2008. In 2008 cottage cheese sales in Russia amounted 385 thousand tons.

In 2010 the market will show positive dynamics again. Cottage cheese is a comparatively cheap product, that is why it is expected to take some level of consumption away from more expensive dairy foods, such as cheese, butter, yogurt, etc. Besides, some of people, purchasing flour desserts and confectionery, are forecasted to turn to the consumption of cheaper chocolate glazed cake cheeses.
