BMI View: We are forecasting healthy and sustained growth across a range of key indicators in NewZealand's tourism market. Benefiting from high profile and consistent marketing campaigns targeting keygrowth markets, inbound arrivals are increasing steadily which will provide a boost for tourism relatedexpenditure in the country. At the same time, domestic economic growth is supporting a slight expansion ofNew Zealand's outbound travel market.

New Zealand is actively pursuing growth in arrivals from key markets in the burgeoning Asia Pacificregion. The tourism body Tourism New Zealand has been working with travel companies in South Koreaand China to increase tourism, and has also appointed a new creative advertising agency specifically totarget growth in tourism from Indonesia. This reflects the importance of regional travel to New Zealand,which accounts for the vast majority of tourism arrivals, around 2mn out of the 3mn expected arrivals in2015 will be from the Asia Pacific region. As economies in the region grow, we expect to see healthygrowth in tourism to New Zealand. This will provide opportunities for a range of sectors, including the hoteland restaurant industry and tour operators/travel companies.
