Vietnam Tourism Report Q1 2015

Vietnam is rapidly growing as a popular tourism destination in the Asia Pacific region and could eventuallyrival more established markets such as nearby Thailand. The country is developing its transportinfrastructure network in order to facilitate domestic and international travel, and a range of hoteldevelopers are taking note of the potential for growth. With a healthy variety of tourist attractions, weexpect to see a steady increase in inbound travel to Vietnam throughout the forecast period.

Vietnam offers a wealth of tourist attractions, from historical and cultural sites in Ho Chi Minh City and HoiAn to beach holiday destinations and jungle excursions. In recent years the country has relaxed visarequirements, making travel more accessible, and it was recently reported that the government wasconsidering waiving visa requirements for more countries including key markets such as France, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, India and Canada. As travel links are improved and Vietnamincreases its presence on the global tourism stage, we expect arrivals to increase from 8.1mn in 2015 to9.8mn in 2018.
