Spain Food and Drink Report Q1 2015

BMI View: In line with the slight recovery in the economy, total food consumption (food and drinks,excluding alcoholic drinks) in Spain increased by an estimated 1.9% year-on-year (y-o-y) in 2014.

Nonetheless, economic situation will remain subdued over the next several years due to structural issues inthe labour market and ailing demand in the wider EU. Consequently, we see little optimism for Spain's foodand drink market, which is expected to register only modest growth over our forecast period to 2018.
