Jordan Telecommunications Report Q2 2015

BMI View: Jordan's telecoms operators look set to remain under intense financial pressure over our fiveyearforecast, as they will be buffeted by macroeconomic and industry-specific challenges. Strongcompetition has also played a role, with ARPUs falling across the board in the first nine months of 2014.

Increased taxes on telecoms revenues have been a major factor in operator revenue declines and thegovernment is not inclined to reduce taxes or reinstate subsidies given its weak fiscal position.. In this set ofcircumstances, network operators must find new ways to generate revenue and reduce operatingexpenses. Zain launched Jordan's first 4G LTE network in February 2015 and Orange is likely to launch itsnetwork within 2015. BMI believes that stronger macro outlook and historical 3G user base growth showsthat 4G adaption too will be strong.
