Board-Trac Spring 2000 Skateboarding

The Skateboarding Report, reflects the data collected from 2,147 questionnaires completed during Spring 2000. The primary emphasis in this report is on the segments: Males 12 - 16; Males 17 - 20 who participate in the sport of skateboarding at three frequency levels: Every Day, Weekly, and Less Often.

Data collection was completed using an online survey technique and was drawn from various sports web sites that are associated with action sports. The survey was approximately 10 minutes in length, and as an incentive, all of the participants were entered in a drawing to win a $250 cash, as well as apparel and music.

The sample consisted of both males (approximately 92%) and females (approximately 8%), ages 8 years and older, from the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, South America, Asia and South Africa.

What's new in Skateboarding 2000?

We have added several new lifestyle and purchasing questions dealing with the Internet including current online and planned purchase intent.

In addition, we have also added profiling questions in order to gain a better understanding of what a "skateboarder" is doing when they're not skateboarding. Favorite music and magazine questions were also asked.

The shopping section was increased with additional questions on "how much money they have" and "what they spend it on."

Backpacks were added to the list of accessories and each of the hardgood sections were expanded to provide a stronger benchmark on current brands owned and future intent to purchase.
