Bishop and Associates, Inc. has just released a new ten chapter, 202 page research report providing a quantitative analysis of the World Military Connector Market, as well as the trends and factors driving the market. Connector sales and orecasts are provided by end use equipment market sectors, and connector product category for the years 2007, 2008 and 2013. Regional data is supplied for the years 2007, and 2008 through 2013.
The military equipment sector that relies heavily on legacy products, but also is a major test ground for the most high-tech and sophisticated connectors in the world, the 2008 military market for connectors was approximately $3 billion dollars. With a growth rate of 6.5 percent from 2007 to 2008, the military market has experienced positive year-over-year growth for over a decade. This decade of year-over-year growth is in contrast to year-over-year growth of total world connector sales, which experienced negative growth during the 2000/2002 downturn.
Although all regions of the world experienced positive growth from 2007 to 2008, some regions out performed others. North America who has consistently had the greatest sales of connectors used in the military sector, also had the smallest year-to-year growth. Europe, who ranks second in connector sales to the military sector, exhibited the greatest growth. Other regions that experienced double-digit growth include China and the ROW region.
