The price of this report has been reduced due to its age. The original price was $2,000. This report focuses on alternate payments. In our September 2007 issue of Cardbeat, we found that 24% of consumers’ wallets would be spent online during the holiday season. Moreover, the trend for buying online represents a large part of consumers’ wallets year round. Alternate payment providers intend to grab a portion of the online payment market share as the prevalence of the online shopper grows. We hope to provide insight into consumer behavior about alternate payment providers. We also examine the comfort levels consumers have with different service providers, like merchants, credit card companies, and alternate payment providers. The goal is to analyze why consumers may act the way they do. In doing so, key statistics, like transaction and annual volume behaviors made with alternate payment providers are analyzed. In addition, some concerns of ours are addressed in the potential future scenarios section.
