2nd Annual Survey of Technology Sector Employees: Current Economic Climate

This survey examines the opinions of employees who are employed within the technology industry or have a primary job function that is technology related regarding the current economic climate. This online research was conducted over a 13-day period beginning on August 22, 2003 and ending on September 4, 2003. There were 235 survey completions, with respondents representing a broad range of technology sector employees including CEOs, CIOs or CFOs (11.2%); MIS Managers, Programmers, Network Administrators, Project Managers, DBAs and Software Engineers (36.2%); and Communication Managers, Purchasing Managers, Business Development Managers, Internet Advertising, VP/Director Communications, Marketing Managers, and Internet E-Commerce Managers (14.2%). The respondents were interspersed throughout different regions of the country, with the highest percentage representations in the South Atlantic (20.7%), Middle Atlantic (17.1%), Pacific (16.2%) and East North Central (14.0%) regions.

A similar study was conducted during July and August 2002. Many of the same survey takers participated in both surveys. This report examines the current results and, where appropriate, compares last year's findings.
