Better Life Commercial Chain 2010: A Company Profile

Better Life operates a chain of supermarkets, department stores (Better Life Mall), appliance chain stores (Better Life Appliance Mall) and discount malls (Meca) in Hunan and Jiangxi. The retailer competes mainly with Carrefour, Wal-Mart, A-Best, Jiangxi Hongkelong Industrial and Hunan Friendship & Apollo Co., Ltd., which owns Shenzhen-listed department store operator Your-Mart. Better Life’s first supermarket was opened in March 1995. At the end of 2009, Better Life had a network of 102 outlets in Hunan and Jiangxi.
